Hi everyone, I’m in a legal nightmare and need help. I’m a French citizen living in Paris, married my Mongolian wife via online Zoom ceremony in Utah. Here’s the mess:
The problem:
1. France won’t recognize my Utah marriage (online ceremony, no physical presence - Article 146-1 Civil Code)
2. France won’t let me divorce because marriage isn’t transcribed/recognized
3. Utah divorce needs 3 months residency - neither of us lives there
4. Wife can’t travel to France (visa too hard from Mongolia)
5. I can’t travel to Utah( visa )
6. We’re both in agreement to divorce, no kids, no major assets
I legit don’t know what to do, only god may save me
