Sold Pokemon games on Facebook marketplace for cash. We met in a public location but he did see my car. Posted multiple pics of the cartridges front and back and the cartridge pins that showed "Nintendo" printed on the circuit board.
About 5 hours later, buyer messages me saying that they're fake and claiming that the label is incorrect. I posted back saying that these were purchased from a retail store (though used) about 5 years ago and I can probably find the receipt to prove it.
Long story short, buyer says they want their money back or threatens legal action in small claims court. I ended up blocking them.
Later the same day I showed pics of the cartridges to some folks that claim to know their stuff about authenticating game cartridges. The general consensus I got is that they are indeed fake.
How should I go about handling this? I'd like to refund the guy and take the cartridges back, but I'm honestly scared to meet with him again. Does he have any claim here with taking this to small claims court? I did not claim anywhere that these cartridges were authentic, I assumed they were since they were purchased from a retail store. I just ended up posting pics.
