I was pulled over by a State Trooper getting off the Triboro Bridge. He claims I wasn’t wearing a seatbelt????? Maybe I’m lame, but who doesn’t wear a seatbelt in 2026??
Showed him I was wearing my seatbelt, and he claimed that it MUST be because I put it on as he was pulling me over. I’m not that diabolical idk. I explained that my car beeps incessantly if you’re not wearing one, but he was completely convicted in his assessment of my seatbeltlessness.
Online I’m reading it’s a $50 ticket but the kicker is that insurance will skyrocket for a guilty plea.
How do I proceed? I want to plead not guilty to the ticket, but how do I even prove I was wearing a seatbelt? Maybe I can request a picture from paying my toll to EZ Pass on the bridge? I feel like I’m being scammed!
