Roommate took all my belongingsempty apt

Roommate moved out a month ago and took everything while I was at work. I was working 3 jobs so I would sometimes have to sleep in my car because it was pointless to drive home from one job when my job started in less than an hr so I would be gone for 24hrs sometimes. Everything except my clothes was gone. From the small things like utensils, rugs, shampoos, pillows, and all of my essentials to the big things like my bed, couch, fridge, and shelves. They didn’t pay rent the last 2 months and left angry because I let the landlord know I was covering for them. We were friends before, and I lived there before they did, so everything was mine. This was just a petty move. A mutual of ours gave me her work address. I will not be able to replace most things for a while and would prefer to get my stuff back. Is there anything I can legally do to get my stuff back? Would I just be wasting money going after them legally. Any hope? Please be honest. Or should I just replace little by little and let this go…thank you. Feeling very discouraged and would appreciate any advice. A month of this has been deteriorating my mind. The landlord can’t do much about this and has been hard to work with. Location: CA
