so last May. I was involved in an investigation (by association) which lead to seizure of all electronics in the house hold. I had no knowledge of any crime nor was there criminal activity on my devices. long story short the other party plead guilty to a lesser crime and forfeited the devices.. including mine. I know I fall under the Innocent Owner Act but the prosecutors won't give them back. the original lawyer on the case said he can't help and a lawyer I reached out to said the cost would be more than double the value of the electronics. he also said probono lawyers would not likely want to pick up this case- and im not even sure where i would start. im really upset over this. I have years of photos of my kids on some of those devices. I had just bought a brand new laptop for school and an iPad with years worth of my art work thats not backed up anywhere else. im not sure what to do, how can they just keep my things when I've done nothing wrong?
