Location: California
I quit a job 6 weeks ago due to my employer cutting business hours over night (which reduced me from
full time to only 24 hours a week), and a few other minor reasons that do not necessarily pertain to my following issues.
This job is located in one of the smallest towns in California, so word gets out pretty quick.
I have heard through multiple people in said town that my ex-boss is claiming that I had stolen money from them (not true and everyone who knows me knows that is not true) and is also airing out how much I and two other co workers made last year. Is it legal for her to be telling people how much we were making last year?
I know it is illegal for her to make false claims, but I have no physical proof so that would not hold any ground, and i assume the same about her telling people our what we had earned annually. is there anything I can do about this?
