Not sure what tag to put this under so apologies.
I'm asking advice for my friend, age: 19, location: Colorado. Friend and parent live together, work together. Parent's name is NOT on the account.
This has taken place over the course of a few months. Back in February, the parental figure was briefly allowed access to the savings account for housing reasons, taking a large sum of money to settle some expenses which friend was more than willing to help with because it was for both their benefit for a new place to live.
Friend noticed tonight after looking through their online bank statements trying to be responsible to see if they can afford something, that there have been multiple withdrawals of 600-1,200 USD taken from their account since August, some payed back in part, others not payed back at all.
My friend is very frugal, doesn't spend much money, so hardly checks their bank statements. So roughly 10 months of money being taken from her without her knowledge before and after February when she loaned the money to the parent.
Parent has never specified needing payments for any other bills, or any sort of financial assistance from friend.
Friend has already frozen saving account, and is curious how to move forward with confronting their parent and get their money back.
Any legal or just kind words of advice would be greatly appreciated.
