My next door neighbor has called in 3 Blight complaints on me in the last year. I have spoken to my city's Blight Officer and worked with her to bring my property into compliance. The BO has been a great help and pointed out a few things that could be a problem in the future which I took care of. Today the police showed up to perform a wellness check on my 20yr old son because they got an anonymous tip from a neighbor. I'm guessing without anything to call the Blight officer now they're calling the police for other nonsense. I know for a fact which neighbor is making these calls. My neighbor on the other side of me has talked to them and asked why they keep calling the City instead of talking to me. According to him they are afraid to talk to me about their complaints, I have no idea why. I have owned my home for almost 9yrs, never had any problems with any of the neighbors, I have loaned or offered to loan my lawn equipment to several, I never do any loud outdoor work without checking with neighbors about the time of day I want to work. I get the feeling this is not the end and would like to know if there is any legal recourse if this keeps happening. Thanks for any advice. I will elaborate further if needed.
