My husband got arrested at work today. He works as a trailer technician for a huge retail company. One of the boxes full of merchandise was damaged. Well, some merchandise inside also got damaged. Most of it was perfectly fine and the company was going to throw it out. Someone from upper management told him and other employees that they could take whatever they wanted because it was going to the trash anyway.
Later that day, another individual came and stated that all of these men had stolen the cops were called, and all the law-enforcement only wanted to write them in a citation. The individual that came down very upset, insisted on them being arrested and charged.
So now my husband is sitting in county jail with two counts of theft by taking. Along with his coworkers.
I just wanna know what we can do to try and get these charges dropped? Will this hold up in court even though he was given permission to take this merchandise?
my husband‘s not a thief. He would not take something without permission. He doesn’t wanna lose his job if he still has one that is it just feels like a giant misunderstanding that was blown way out of proportion.
