Hello,
my boyfriend took his truck to a mechanic in San Diego (near the Otay Mesa border) about 2 months ago for work on his transmission. The mechanic has previously worked on his car no issues but this time the mechanic has lagged on the work and has been super evasive. I don’t know much about cars but two months seems really excessive to me. Anyways, my boyfriend has been pressuring the mechanic to return his car since the mechanic moved it to “another lot” where there was allegedly a lift to work under the car but couldn’t give my boyfriend an exact address of the place he moved it to. After persistent complaints to the mechanic, he sent a photo of the truck but the photo location is in Tijuana :/ The mechanic never said anything about moving the car to TJ so pretty safe to assume it’s stolen. I have the location of the place in TJ because the mechanic was dumb enough to leave the geotag of the photos on but how would we even proceed with getting the authorities involved aside from filing a stolen vehicle report here in the U.S.? Any help is appreciated :)
