Left America in 2012 due to family circumstances to return to my country of birth in Australia.
During this time I was dealing with a DUI court case but due to everything that was going on at the time it was the least of my worries.
Fast forward a few years, and I never heard anything from the public defender, even though they said they would reach out but never did.
Did a search and found the case is dormant. A bench warrant was issued in absentia for not showing up to court.
Advice on the best way to deal with this
I currently have no immigration status as my green card expired a few years after I left
Don't plan on returning to America but would like to have it resolved just for peace of mind.
