Lawyer died, no one will take case - now what?

location: western new york

hi all, my wife had a lawyer follow an ERISA lawsuit against an insurance company for disability insurance. Unfortunately, immediately after filing the lawsuit, that lawyer passed away. we've contacted over a dozen ERISA lawyers at this point, and, despite the case being relatively simple, we have heard time and time again that no office will take a lawsuit in progress. At this point, the case has been dismissed (without prejudice). Due to the specialized nature of ERISA law, it's hard to find anyone else. is there another specialty, maybe a litigator, that might be more willing to take this matter on?
