I work at a small mediterranean restaurant in SoCal, after about 6 months of working here my boss has asked me to sign some new “rule book” paperwork, and out of the 18 new rules one of them says “walking out in the middle of the shift will make you financially responsible for all revenue lost due to closing early.” is that legal? not that i plan on quitting mid shift or anything, but it feels weird to try and put that on an employee. i really don’t want to sign this paperwork, there’s a handful of other rules that seem a bit iffy.
