I’ve been looking for a new job for quite some time now. I came across a really appealing indeed posting after thousands of applications and was stoked to finally get a callback. I did multiple interview processes, and was hired. I was a bit skeptical because the job was advertised as salary based but at the interview process I was told it was hourly, commission, and performance based (sales related). I thought long and hard over it, and decided to take the job after seeing how successful the employees and management were. This was a sales position for a very, very large company. I put in my 2 week notice at my previous job and started orientation at my new job yesterday. Everything went great I felt - I was asking questions, taking notes, and had tried my best to dress as nicely as I could. I met all of the other employees and management and it felt as if we were all getting along very well. I went home and completed all of the onboarding paperwork and around 6 hours of online courses that I had to take intensive notes on. I passed all of the tests at 100% and it was mentioned that some of us would be invited to a large company meeting the next day with corporate. I got a call around 6pm and thought I was one of the people being invited. Turns out they called me to say exactly the following:
“We took a look at our scheduling and decided that we couldn’t fit you in with the hours you requested and rather than work it out with you we’ve decided to part ways.”
I had never given them a schedule prior to this. I told them that I had completely open availability and that I would work part or full time.
