I am 16 and in Dire Need of a Sole Owner Bank Account

Location: Texas

For context; my mom died a couple of months ago, I have no money now and I need to work in order to live and get a new place. (I am currently in the process of being kicked out of my rental). The problem is the job I have requires a bank account in order to work (I asked for other options but was denied), so until I can find a place to get an account, I am in a state where I can’t even start to save money to rent at a new place.

I don’t really have a parent to join a bank account with me, my mom is dead, and my dad only has a Chime account, from what I see most joint accounts need both parties in order to be able to create an account. My dad doesn’t have the funds to pay fees or have a starting deposit to make an account anywhere else, and he can’t afford a place on his own. (Hence why I am trying to work.) Moreover, he is terrible with money in general, and I’m unsure if I can trust him with my money as he tends to blow it all. So the joint bank account with a legal guardian is almost entirely out of the question.

I understand the premise of minors not being able to sign on contract without them being void, but I truly am in a desperate situation right now. I am desperate for anything. I have my school ID, passport, and Social Security number memorized,(not card but number, when my mom died a lot of my legal paperwork became scattered, I am currently in the process of looking for my birth certificate, but I can’t really afford to replace it right now, and I hope that what I currently have works as forms of identification.) I can try Bank of America, but before that I need to know if there is anything else that I can do, all advice is welcome and appreciated. I am honestly devastated that it’s so hard to begin to make a living for myself, but it’s a hard situation overall. Thank you for reading.
