My husband was asked to co sign on a vehicle for a co worker who was an important part of his operation. In the moment he agreed and then regretted it shortly after but still followed through because he wanted to be a man of his word... fast forward to now.. 16 months later these people have still not refinanced the loan, will not hold insurance coverage on the vehicle, will not provide us with proof of insurance when they have it. Won't give us proof od oil change and other maintenances either. They have horrible communication and are now months past due on the payment. They have wrecked the car and never gave us notice. I found out by getting a certified piece of mail from the wrecking yard. Car has been repaired as this week. They are still behind on payments though. What kind of contract should we have them sign with us to protect ourselves.
