My grandparents both passed away in 2024 and 2025. In 2020, when they were both very well of sound mind and body, they gifted me their truck when Grandpa lost his license. For years they said it would be given to me. There was $12k remaining on it of which I paid $6k. The title was officially transferred.
After their passing, this is coming into question along with many other things regarding the estate. My uncle’s lawyer sent a letter to the POA questioning everything and requesting we send title, bill of sale, etc. the POA’s attorney says we they don’t have to respond.
While the truck is not the main area of concern, it has me nervous! What legal grounds does he have, if any? In Illinois.
