So I work for a job where I am not able to take a lunch. I work 12 hrs and take “2 lunches”
My company uses a digital clock in and out system and for every every lunch in/out it ask if I took a uninterrupted lunch break, by the nature of my job it is most definitely not uninterrupted.
But my company does pay me for the lunches.
Heres my question though
Should I be compensated a meal premium? I know anytime you miss your lunch you’re compensated a meal premium as far as I’m aware
Yes my company does pay me for my lunch but am I losing out on money by saying I’m taking an uninterrupted meal break ?
Is it even legal what they want me to do?
When I started I didn’t clock out for lunch but as time went on the company was getting flagged for employees not taking lunch so they had me attest saying I took my lunches so they’d stop getting flagged and payed me for my lunch
No premium or anything
I work straight 12hrs
Not sure how to handle this or if i should do anything
Any advice would be appreciated
