Child support appeal Ohio

Location: Ohio

My ex (39 M) and I (F 36) have been split up for over 3 years. We have 1 child who is 10, I just filed for child support in December as I was trying to work things out between us financially to support her but he refused. he has not seen her in 6 months because I filed and prior to that had her every other weekend. we were never married and he has no legal custody or visitation.

He was making over $30k more than me when we separated. The state calculator shows he should be paying $600-700 per month as I have her full time and I also carry her health insurance. our hearing was last month and he did not show up and did not provide any documentation. The person overseeing the heating said unless I can provide any info showing what he makes then they will go off of minimum wage. I just got the order back and he is only ordered to pay $160 per month.

They said I can appeal but I need further evidence showing his information is incorrect. I don’t see how I am supposed to find that evidence as I don’t have access to his W2s or tax returns. I am confused as to how I had to submit 3 years of tax returns and 6 months of pay stubs and he is kind of getting off the hook for just…not providing anything. they suggested I appeal, however I don’t know if I should spend all the extra money on top of parenting and paying for my child alone.

I only have 14 days from the time the order was issued to hire someone and file an appeal
