Can I switch sides?

Location: Washington

I am currently a codefendant with my father in a lawsuit. I am also an employee of his. Without spending to much time telling the whole messed up story I will try to summarize.

Previous business associates of his are suing him and myself for multiple incredibly frivolous unfounded things.

The only time I ever interacted with these individuals I was an extension of my father carrying out his exact requests. It’s also important to note I never had any training or scope of duties. I would express concerns over the work I was doing and he would specifically tell me not to worry that I would never get in trouble for anything because he is the “boss”.

Well news flash he was wrong. I didn’t get a say in who the attorney was that was hired to represent us. And frankly he’s an ass and it’s very clear he could care less about this case and me. I’ve had people express concerns that I haven’t been dismissed as an individual. My father has been really unsupportive and rude throughout the whole process.

At this point the only one that seems to care and is getting anything done is opposing counsel.

I desperately want to get out of this situation and a crazy idea popped into my head. Can I switch sides? I’ll tell the other side whatever they want to know if they drop the suit against me. If my father won’t protect me I will.
