Location: Vermont: I recently had a baby in September 2025 ( 5 month old female) The baby's father wanted nothing to do with the pregnancy because I wouldn't allow him to live with me. He suddenly wanted to be involved when he discovered I was in a relationship, So I was making time for him to see our baby. He thought he was taking her for christmas( this was not discussed) But I said no because I had plans with my boyfriend's family. Following that he applied for 50/50 custody. We were ordered to complete genetic testing that we each pay half.
I paid over $300 and scheduled the baby's swab. I messaged him and informed him of what company I used and when it would take place.
He texted back a few days later telling me to call this other company that he had set his test up with.
He got swabbed 02/10 and baby got swabbed 02/23. When at baby's swab the lab said they had no record of dad on any of their paperwork.
Who is in the wrong here, Will I get in trouble for not having cohesive results before my next hearing ? (03/23)
If we have to repeat testing to be on the same page is it possible he can pay the whole test sine I had hers scheduled first?
How do I proceed?
