Location: Midland, MI
I found out via my ring doorbell that maintenance entered my apartment while I was asleep using a master key around 1 in the morning bringing in a fridge that I did not have a work order in for. The lease in regards to rights of entry is this:
Landlord and Manager shall have the right to enter upon the premises at all times and under all circumstances as provided under applicable State, inclusive of the purpose of inspecting the same and making necessary repairs and maintenance thereto. Repairs shall occur between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Should the repair be deemed an emergency by the Landlord or Manager, Landlord and Manager reserve the right to make necessary repairs at any time of day or night. Such right of entry granted to Landlord and Manager shall include any and all reasonable business purposes connected with the Management and operation of the Apartment Community, and any business relating to the premises incident to the management and operation of said Apartment Community.
Given that it’s outside of the normal repair time and a new refrigerator doesn’t seem like an emergency I’m unsure if it is in violation of the lease. Either way it felt like a breach of privacy and I am uncomfortable with it just wanted some advice as to if i am being unreasonable in considering taking action.
