Location: Gardena CA.
My RV is permitted and parked in front of my house. I move it every week for street sweeping on Thursday morning. Lately, someone has been reporting it as abandoned almost every Friday. Always on Friday.
Clearly it's not abandoned, being parked in front of the house it's permitted to and having just been moved for street sweeping Thursday morning.
Traffic enforcement has to come out and chalk the tires and put a notice on the windshield every time. Then I have to move the RV a couple feet away from the chalk marks to prove it's not abandoned. Not sure what happens if they do it while I'm out of town and it doesn't get moved but I'm sure it won't be great.
Traffic enforcement says it's anonymous calls and they're getting pretty sick of having their time and resources wasted, but I guess they're required to do the tire chalk and the notice every time.
I'm a little concerned about getting towed or fined or something if I miss it one time and would like to find the person making the calls and legally convince them to stop. At the recomendation of a parking enforcement officer, we've been filing a police report for harassment each time so that we have documentation.
What are my options? Is there a way I can find the person through phone records or something, or can I somehow convince the police department and parking enforcement to stop taking anonymous calls about the matter? Open to any reasonable solution.
