A guy brought a gun to work.

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
A coworker brought a gun to work, the fact that he had it was illegal as it was not his and he didn't have a conceal and carry permit. The guy was an absolute moron who was playing with it in the store every chance he could where the security cameras couldn't see him. I ended up taking a picture of him with it secretly, and reported it to my boss and corporate. They immediately fired the guy on the spot.

I had to give a written statement, the company's whistle blower policy claims to protect my identity, and my own boss promised no one would ever know that I was the one who reported the guy.

A few months pass and I found out that everyone at work knows about the incident because my boss told everyone before he moved out of the state. Everyone now knows I reported the guy.

And this incident ruined the guy's life, he literally had a baby 2 months before my photo got him fired. So now I fear if word gets back to him, and his life is doing that bad, he could retaliate against me.

What should I do, just quit or transfer? And do I have any legal options for my ex-boss breaking the whistle blower policy?
